Technical Documentation & Drafting Lead – Residential Remodeling

About the Role

As the Technical Documentation & Drafting Lead, you will play a critical role in bridging creative design with practical execution. You’ll collaborate closely with our designers, sales, and production teams to ensure the highest standards of technical documentation. From concept to construction, you will oversee the development of detailed, accurate, and buildable plans that align with design intent and construction feasibility.

Your expertise will ensure that every project meets code compliance, structural integrity, and production efficiency. You will be a key liaison between designers, engineers, and production teams, ensuring seamless coordination and reducing construction-phase issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and produce as-built plans, 3D models, construction drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Validate structural feasibility and compliance with building codes.
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure the technical accuracy of design concepts.
  • Maintain and refine drafting standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and permitting authorities.
  • Provide technical expertise to production teams throughout construction.
  • Participate in client meetings to address technical aspects of the project.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A passion for high-quality craftsmanship and problem-solving.
  • Advanced Experience in Drafting, with a strong background in remodeling.
  • Formal training in building structures and residential construction (degree preferred, but equivalent experience considered).
  • Expertise in 2D & 3D CAD software in Chief Architect.
  • Strong knowledge of residential building codes, structural principles, and construction best practices.
  • Experience in leading or guiding a team in drafting and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
