Bluestem Addition Project Wins 2026 Master Design Award

We are so proud to have been named a winner in the 48th Annual Qualified Remodeler Master Design Awards Competition!

Sponsored by Qualified Remodeler magazine, the Master Design Awards is a national contest “recognizing outstanding achievement in residential remodeling projects” in 22 categories.

“Nominees are residential remodeling companies from across the country and entries are judged on aesthetic appeal, construction techniques used, handling of unusual situations, attention to detail, functionality of space and overall impression of the project.”

Our team is so excited to have won this award, and grateful to the homeowners for entrusting us to work in their home. Thank you to Qualified Remodeler magazine for the recognition!

These homeowners loved the location of their home, with its easy access to highways, parks and restaurants. It was in a great neighborhood with a wonderful community and a cozy, tucked-away feel. They adored the classic style of the house, with its elegant archways, large moldings, and gorgeous hardwood floors throughout. However, life had reached a point where they needed more space.

They had grown tired of the lack of storage, tight corridors, constant running into each other, tripping over dog beds, and having to take turns in the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen was so small it could not even accommodate a refrigerator in the main space! Upstairs, the primary bathroom was tiny and awkward, closet space was severely lacking, and one homeowner had to store clothing down the hall in another room. Entrances and exits in the home were cramped and dangerous, and there was no bathroom on the main level. They desperately wanted to be able to host overnight guests, and have an accessible bathroom so older family members could visit.

The final home addition plan was the perfect size for our clients, allowing them to keep their beloved backyard living spaces while almost doubling the square footage of their home. All key additional space needs were fulfilled, resulting in a large, highly-functional kitchen, a new owner’s suite, a new powder room, new storage options, improved entrances, better flow, and multiple new spaces to enjoy and entertain in – including an expanded basement with room for a golf simulator! These homeowners couldn’t be happier with their addition, and look forward to enjoying their home for many years to come.
